Mary Elliott was born and raised in Santa Barbara and enjoyed drawing and painting
from a very early age. After completion of a BFA from Chouinard Art Institute,
she began to focus her fine art experience in watercolors, Polaroid transfer
images, infrared film photography and hand-tinted black and white
photographs on fiber-base paper, with exciting results. These fascinating
mediums allow her to explore her favorite subjects of nature and found
natural settings. Some of Mary's photographs with her own special artistry,
transform discarded objects into startling and unexpected works with a
contemporary vision. This special artistry is expressed in her painting as well.
Mary has taught numerous classes in art and exhibited together with Jill Sattler.
Mary is a member of the women's painting group Atelier 809.
